Does anyone know a way to place many images all at once?

I have been trying to figure this our for ages. Often time I need to place many images (like more than 50) into Illustrator to do a design layout. Unfortunately, the only way I know how to get all of the images in there is "placing" them one by one - and it take forever.

Thanks!

I think it's a job for scripting - you might want to ask on the script forum

If you want to link the images, you have to do it one by one. If you don't mind embedding them (and who does?), you can simplify things somewhat: Drag them all from the finder onto the Illustrator application icon (or its alias). They'll each open in an individual Illustrator file, but then it's pretty easy to simply copy, close and paste into your master document.

Side note:

Did you know you can drag a bunch of placeable files from a finder window directly onto an InDesign page, and they will all place on the page, on top of each other.
