Oops. I'm learning how this posting works.

I'm having trouble getting "persistent" to show up in a custom palette's menu. I saw it show up earlier this morning, so I know it shows up at the bottom of the menu, but I can't get it to show up again.

I think that it showed up when I loaded a library that was on our server, as opposed to a local library, but I can't get it to show up with either any more.

I have tried re-starting Illustrator, which sometimes makes my (perhaps apparent problems go away, but no luck this time. I'm running Illustrator CS2, v 12.0.1 under OS X v 10.4.6.

I also tried to get it to work on a colleague's machine, but no luck there either.

Thanks so much, Karen

The Persistent item is only available when the Swatch library is located in the Presets/Swatches library, or for Symbol libraries, the Presets/Symbols folder, etc. That is, it must be in the same folder that is used to build the corresponding menu.

Files on servers, or even in random folders on the local disk, cannot be made persistent.
